Meet
The Panther!
PantherProwLs
started getting into the BDSM lifestyle in 1997 in the San Francisco
Bay area. Panther had done some experimentation as early as 1977, but
did not find the Leather community until then. Panther started playing
with knives as a young cub when he was 4 years old on non-consenting
hotdog and marshmallow sticks. He was given his first knife when he
was 5. Now, of course, Panther is still playing with knives (his "Claws"),
but the results are a lot more fun and gratifying. Panther's favorite
toys are the Mind and then his Claws, the MiniTail, the FlatCat, single-tailed
whips, floggers, canes, Electricity, Fire, and whatever else he can
find at the moment.
PantherProwLs
is active in the Northern California scene as a member of the Society
of Janus and SMOdyssey. Panther is a trained Dungeon Monitor and a member
of the Dungeon Monitors Association. PantherProwLs has taught classes
and done workshops and demonstrations for SMOdyssey, the Society of
Janus, FantasyMakers, S-ALT Atlanta, DFW-Alt, BAPS, WOPPE, and other
groups on a variety of subjects including knifeplay, flogging, single-tailed
whips, caning, impact play, and suturing.
PantherProwLs
makes a variety of BDSM-based leather products and does custom leather
work, which he markets through his company, PantherProwLs Enterprises.

Sew
What?
Sew... You want to suture What??? This class will teach the participant
some basic techniques for suturing and some ways to use suturing safely
in a BDSM scene. This class does NOT teach medical suturing and does
NOT qualify any individual in any way for using these techniques for
any use other than S&M play. Safety will be emphasized, since suturing,
like temporary piercing, breaks the skin, and is often classified as
"blood play". Topics will include proper Aseptic Technique, Choosing
and using Antiseptic solutions, Use of and reasoning for "Sterile Fields",
Using the "Surgeon's Knot", Use of suturing instruments, Various suture
techniques, Use of sutures to create patterns and/or attach decoration,
Proper preparation of other items, Removal of sutures, and After care.
"Caress
of Steel" aka Knifeplay 101
A class designed to acquaint the participant(s) with the uses of knives
and similar blades in erotic BDSM play. It is meant not only for the
novice but for the more experienced player as well. Due to the inherent
risks involved with sharp blades, safety is emphasized at all times.
Topics covered include but are not limited to: Basic knife components
and nomenclature, Blade design and composition, Proper care and cleaning
of blades, Safe handling of blades both in and out of scene, Combining
knifeplay with other types of play, and How to mitigate or minimize
risks associated with knifeplay. Following these discussions, techniques
are introduced which allow the participant(s) to utilize knives in their
scenes. Various uses of sight and sound as well as contact sensation
are demonstrated. The goal of this workshop is to allow the participant(s)
to be able to safely incorporate knifeplay into their scenes with awareness
and respect for knives and the risks which accompany blades.
THWACK!!!
- Understanding Impact Play
This class is designed to teach the participant to understand the basic
science and mechanics behind various types of impact play. This includes
safety zones, preferred impact zones, kinetic energy, energy transfer,
rate of transfer, flex, and some of the mathematical and physical equations
that apply to impact play. Various methods and tools/toys of impact
play will be demonstrated. Upon completion of this class, participants
should be able to understand why they choose and/or prefer various toys
when they do S&M impact play. This will allow the bottom to make more
informed choices when negotiating and allow the Top to create a better,
more satisfying scene both for themselves and for their partners.
