down upon what was the most beautiful expression on a woman's face he had ever seen and was hooked. Until mid-1990, he was somewhat adrift having not found the "scene" so anything he did was primarily either stimulated by scenes in movies or fictional tales printed in various adult paperbacks.
In 1990, he moved to the DC area where to his delight, he found a computer bulletin board known as The Power Exchange where he found others who shared his joy of BDSM. He admits that many of the things that he was doing up until that time were not as safe as they could have been. Fortunately, some of the local people took him under their wing and taught him about "safe, sane, and consensual." They did it in a positive way to help him learn he could continue doing a lot of things he had done before as long as he took the time to think about safety first. This has proven to be a lesson not only in safety, but in being a caring member of the scene.
While involved in
the scene in the DC area, he became interested in electrical play. His
first electrical toy was a cattle prod that he spent time testing on himself
to adjust the power output. It wasn't long before he found a "willing
victim" who loved the intensity of electrical play.
Other toys that were added included a TENS unit and a violet wand. Being
an engineer by trade, JailStrap spent time studying electricity and its
impact on the body. Some of this was through research of various limited
literature and some was through hands-on experimentation.
In 1994, he moved
to Texas where he became involved in the Leather Rose Society in Dallas.
In 1997, shortly after Leather Rose Society announced that they would
be shutting down at the end of the year, he was one of the people who
helped start the munch now known as Fourth Fridays and continues to be
involved in its operation. He started the DallasBDSM
website which is a well known resource used in the local area. He is currently
a volunteer staff member at Sanctuary Dallas who serves as Dungeon Monitor,
security, and happily gives demonstrations / instructions to people on
the safe use of electrical toys. He is the founder of Cruel Intentions
in Dallas; a group that engages in heavier, louder, rougher forms of play.

The Violet Wand - The violet wand is an electrostatic device which can be used in a wide variety of ways. This discussion will focus on the use of a violet wand to enhance your scenes and will include information on selecting and maintaining the wand/electrodes.
