Into the Abyss: The Spirituality of Piercing
From the earliest cultures to modern times, piercing the body has been used as a means of decoration, showing wealth, marking rites of passage, body modification or induction into the "spirit world." Unlike today, where we use sterile surgical steel, in ancient time piercing was performed with stones or bones. There are innumerable accounts of "spiritual" states or states of euphoria being aided by or as a direct result of piercing. Topics will include cheek-piercing, use of various sized hooks, using weights and placing tension on temporary needles.

Injections and Infusions
Knowledge of basic needle play is a precursor for this workshop. From the rather painless scrotal infusion to give you "The Biggest Balls of Them All" to the painful but later pleasurable labial injections, you will witness some less commonly seen SM play. Anatomy 101 lessons included.

Spirituality: The Guided Tour
What happens when we push the limitations of the body and spirit? Perhaps by breaking through walls that would otherwise hold us in, we can discover a whole new world for ourselves. Beyond the tears and screams of pain, the fear of death, and the unknown, we can find nirvana and a spiritual uplifting to breathe new life into our blood and restore the flow of ki (energy) throughout our bodies. In this lecture seminar, FifthAngel will take us on a “Guided Tour” of the mind, pain processing and using the BDSM scene as a partnership in spirituality.

The Primeval Art of Cupping
Cupping has been used for centuries in Eastern medical arts and is a skill that has rapidly become part of BDSM. Firebugs and masochists alike enjoy this type of play due to its involvement of fire, pleasure and sensation. FifthAngel will demonstrate intriguing and erotic places that respond well to cupping, with great emphasis on safety. Various cupping techniques will be demonstrated from basic to advanced with and without the use of fire. A medieval cupping technique from fifth century BC that involves blood will also be demonstrated. Cupping functions on a basic scientific principle: the removal of oxygen/air from a closed container creates a partial vacuum. One method is to place fire inside the cup and then the cup is held to the skin, making a closed container. The fire quickly consumes all the oxygen within, creating suction while safely extinguishing itself. Sensations are created by the skin being stretched and blood being pulled to the surface of the skin.

The Finer Points of Pain and Pleasure - Dating back thousands of years, pressure points have been used as a means of healing as well as preventing illness. In the world of SM, pressure points have many other interesting applications. They can be used to inflict pain ranging from mild discomfort to blinding agony - giving us that treasured, “Oh, just kill me and get it over with” reaction. Pressure points can also be used for sensual play and orgasm, as well as other therapeutic uses such as injury treatment and smoking cessation. FifthAngel will demonstrate various pressure points on volunteers from the workshop attendees, as well as providing hands-on instructions.
