ShannonSwitches is an inventive and entertaining Kinkster based in the DFW metroplex. She has been teach and presenting on lifestyle topics for over a decade. Her interests range from ageplay to fireplay and focus on using creativity to construct intense and dynamic scenes that produce strong physical and emotional reactions. A community leader and hobbist burlesque and freakshow entertainer, ShannonSwitches has traveled across the US and to Europe in order to educate and entertain the Kink community. ShannonSwitches employs an interactive teaching style, favoring hands-on learning and class participation.

2011 Presentations

Fireplay 101 - Live Fire Demo
You will learn to build or how to choose a wand to purchase for fireplay and how to choose materials and assemble a fireplay kit. Learn how to select your space, plan your equipment area and prepare your bottom for the scene. You will be shown how to safely perform fireplay on your bottom and how to control sensation intensity to the level you wish to provide. Using a violet wand in fireplay and firecupping will be explained and demonstrated as well. 1-1.5hr class

A "mind fuck" is the action of messing with the conscious mental events and capabilities in a person. Sometimes they are planned in great detail, other times the Universe hands you one wrapped with a bow for you to inflict upon a hapless victim. You will be taught how to plan a mindfuck and how to recognize and invoke the ones seemingly dropped from the sky. We will discuss mindfucks and the elements that are helpful to pulling off a really good one and then the class will work together to apply their skills and knowledge to mindfuck a hapless soul. If you experienced an evil laugh in your head while reading this description, this class is for you.

Fireplay:
This class covers just about every nuance of fireplay, and is a very good "how to" course. The course materials include tips on where to buy equipment and materials, and the course itself covers how to make the equipment you can't buy. This course includes instruction on basic fireplay (various types), fire cupping, devil's fire, use of flash cotton and fire flogging. Safety is emphasized, and negotiation issues are also covered. Time permitting, all participants who want to will be able to get some "hands on" experience. This presentation includes equipment list and brief outline, and demonstration. Hands-on experience can be offered to participants during the class. NOTE: Fireplay information is not available on my website. I don't want to take a chance with clueless ones working solely from written instruction and getting hurt.

Bratting:
Come to the Brat Class and find out how to avoid behaviors that give brats a bad rap while still getting your kink on in fine brat style. Directed towards brats and the people who care about them, this class is centered on negotiated consensual bratting and how you can let your inner brat free without infringing on the limits of others in the lifestyle.

2004 Presentations:
BDSM and D/s Relationships with X - This class is designed to encourage thought and consideration of what it is that makes D/s relationships work. It includes a discussion of the types of relationships possible, and explores the typical elements of such relationships. The evolving nature of D/s relationships is emphasized, and the common stages of such relationships are explored. Typical pitfalls and problems, and ways to work through or around them, are also discussed. Finally, if those attending are interested and there is time, dealing with termination of relationships will also be explored.
Those attending will be encouraged to ask questions or provide examples based upon their own experiences.
