Lady Caro

Caro has been actively involved in the Leather community for more than two decades, or as she is fond of saying, "since leather was first on the cow".

Beginning the journey in NYC in the 70s, in the 80s she moved to SF. In the late 1980s, along with others like Jay Wiseman, she began teaching at House of Differences. The people she met there, would go on to make tremendous contributions to leather as some of the founders and earliest members of smOdyssey, where she was one of the event's earliest presenters. She has also been a presenter at events such as LLC, IMsL, CLAW, Beyond Vanilla, Tribal Fire, TES, Threshold, NJ Leather Weekend, Heart of America/KCLU, Florida Fetish Weekend, Leather Pride in Ottawa, Canada and most recently taught at Widener University.

In addition to her teaching and writing, Caro has also been a keynote speaker at various events and a judge for numerous contests. She judged the Olympus contest in 2006 and in 2007, and served as the head judge standing in for George Wong, In 2006 she judged Florida Olympus, and Mr. Florida Leather Bear and returned in 2007 as head judge for those two titles as well as judging International Pony/Trainer. In November 2007 she was thrilled to return to Canada to judge Mr. Leather Ottawa XV. Caro has also been selected as a judge for Pantheon of Leather and IMLXXX to be held in May 2008.

Caro is a member of Mama's Family, (Mama's Tyrannosaurs Regina), on the Executive Board of the National Leather Association International, and serves on the educational and domestic violence committees of the NLA-I. She was also one of the founders of the Philadelphia NLA-I chapter that sponsored her in 2005 when she competed and won Ms. Olympus Leather. She was also honored to be the recipient of the Pantheon of Leather, President's Choice Award in 2007 and she is delighted and honored to be returning to Tribal Fire.

2008 Presentations:

Fear THIS!
You know the feeling, that tightening in your gut, the dry mouth, feeling your heart pound in your chest as your breath comes quicker??? It’s fear. You can feel it, you can see it, and you can smell it. This workshop will teach you to understand fear, not just as an endpoint but also as a means to an end. This workshop will explore various techniques as to how the creation of fear can be used as a basis or as an enhancement of play.

Medical Information for the Scene and the 411 on 911

What is a medical emergency? When do you call 911? What do you say? What do you do until they arrive? How (or do you) amend your play in order to play safely with those who have chronic medical conditions? What personal medical information should be shared and when and how and why and with whom? With the proper information, participants in this workshop will have a better understanding of how chronic and emergent medical conditions can influence play.

CUPPING
Common to both Eastern and Western ancient cultures, cupping goes back thousands of years. In combination with fire, it has transcended from an ancient medical treatment to a new age/alternative medicine therapy that has various applications to SM play. This will be a hands-on workshop on how a little cup and a little flame can produce a lot of sensations.

2004 Topics:
Ooooooooh Yeeeeeesssss (Understanding and Achieving Better Orgasms) An interesting approach to orgasms: what it is, how it happens, and how it can be made a longer and more intense experience. From understanding orgasms, to multiple orgasms (for women and men, yes that's right men) and "mental orgasms", to extended orgasms, this is a demo that incorporates anatomy, physiology, safety, tantric and kundalini yoga, meditation, visualization and humor to reach that bliss. Handouts available.

CBT When we hear or see the term CBT, if we're not thinking "computer based training" we think "torture" and that usually makes legs cross and squint a bit. Caro is back to present CBT, an "owners and operators" manual. Whether you own the equipment or just play with it, there's a lot to know. The workshop will cover basic anatomy, physiology, why, how, where (and why-nots, how-nots" and "where nots" of CBT. It also includes information on "toys" and "games". The focus will be on creating intense and pleasurable sensations for male genitalia. If CBT is something you've thought about but know little about, this is a place to get information. If you know about it and want to learn more, this is also a place for you. Handouts will be available.
